A German electric-truck enthusiast and YouTuber is set to pilot a Mercedes-Benz eActros across six continents, aiming to become the first person to drive a heavy-duty electric semi around the globe. The mission, scheduled to launch next month, underscores the rapid evolution of zero-emission long-haul transport.

The roughly 80-day journey will cover more than 40,000 kilometers across Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Australia. According to the YouTuber, who operates under the channel ElectroTrucker, the trip will test the eActros’s range, charging infrastructure, and durability under extreme conditions.

“If this truck can handle the heat of the Outback and the cold of Siberia, it proves that electric semis are ready for global logistics,” said the YouTuber, who requested anonymity for safety reasons.

Technical Challenges Ahead

The eActros, with a claimed range of about 400 km per charge, will rely on a planned network of fast chargers along major highways and strategic pit stops. Mercedes-Benz Trucks has supplied a custom battery pack and reinforced cooling systems for the trek.
